Berosus was a wealthy farmer from Otego, New York, America. He was a drover and later went into
business. He was a generous donator. His daughter Adelia had a son named after him, who
was
a clever and friendly man, loved by many. He went into business with his brother Charles, but
they
sold the business after old Berosus passed away. Charles later died of a heart attack. Young
Berosus had a son, Robert, who became a well known attorney. During the second World War he
was a chief petty officer in the air arm of the
U. S. Navy. His daughter Andrea became
a
nurse.
Young Berosus also had a daughter Marian. She
was attacked by a police dog, who sprang after
her into a lake where she was swimming while
camping. He scratched her severely but she survived.
Berosus Cook married into the Whipple family. His wife was related to the pioneer photographer
John Adams Whipple, famous for his photos of the stars and the moon. Below is a rough family tree,
showing the main lines between John and Berosus. Nothing is known of Berosus' side of the family.
Berosus was 41-42 years old in this image.
